Anti-Ragging-Initiative

ANTI RAGGING CELL

Anti ragging committee is a body at institutional level to establish measures for prohibiting, preventing and banning activities of Ragging Menace within and outside the campus in accordance with AICTE/UGC Regulations, supreme court directives and state act, the committee is responsible for taking action against those found guilty of ragging and or abetting ragging, actively or passively or being part of a conspiracy to promote ragging. The anti ragging committee should keep updated on the happenings/events related to ragging in campus or off-campus within the hostels and other designated places in the premises.
The institute level anti-ragging committee comprising of Dean (Community Science) as Chairman and members include Head of the Departments, Staff Advisor, Warden and Academic Coordinator.  The students are sensitised on what is Ragging and reporting mechanisms during the orientation programme.  The anti-ragging committee comprising of faculty monitors the students both in the academic campus and in the hostels as well.

Anti ragging cell of our college is functioning with the vision of Prevention and Prohibition of Ragging and thereby, providing a good atmosphere for the healthy development of all students in our college. It has the same objective as that of AICTE to eliminate ragging. The motto of Antiragging cell is ‘Together, we feel at home’. It is mandatory to all students admitted and their parents to fill in an Anti Ragging affidavit. Patron of the cell is the Correspondent and the cell is headed by the Principal with faculty members, representatives of students of first year and senior classes, non-teaching staff, Hostel Wardens, and parents as members. With the efforts of the cell, the menace of ragging is eradicated in our campus and no cases of ragging are reported.
